Biography

Mikayla Kelley is a Neubauer Family Assistant Professor of Philosophy at the University of Chicago. Her primary research area is the philosophy of action, with recent work on virtual action, acting with inanimate objects, mental action, control, knowledge in action, and the relationship between our concepts of agency and our ethical practices. She also works in metaethics and epistemology. In metaethics, she has defended the view that there are objective facts about what one ought to do. In epistemology, she has published a series of articles defending the rationality norms of Bayesianism, arguing that beliefs satisfying them are more accurate than those that do not. She is currently writing a monograph on methodology in the philosophy of action.
